LogoWithWhiteBorder.png

The Swiss Lebanon Organisation association, with Alexia Weill, close to Lebanon through the connections and friendships she has forged over many years in Switzerland with the Lebanese community, brings together Swiss artists including Nicolas Bamert, Pascal Bettex, Adelia Clavien, Andrea Dora, Bernard Garo, Noël Hémon, Angela McFall, Sebastien Pridmore and Hdu Trem to create an event with the support of the MAG Foundation.

The Swiss workshop Animaux-en-Résines is partnering with this event by providing the artists with ten resin cows to support their creativity. All proceeds from the sale of the works will be donated to Lebanese cultural associations.

The Swiss Lebanon Association warmly thanks the artists for their donation and their creation, the Swiss workshop Animaux-en-resine.ch for their collaboration as well as Mrs. Marie-Hélène Heusghem, director of MAG and Mr. Jean-François Gailloud, president of the Mag Foundation, for their support in organizing this charitable project in favor of Lebanon.

NICOLAS BAMERT

Guided by love, beauty, and peace, Nicolas Bamert transmits and shares the fundamental values of life through monumental installations, colorful frescoes, and unusual exhibitions. He breathes new life into sad walls and unsanitary premises. He paints on various media (canvas, wood, concrete, aluminum), sculpts concrete creatures, welds steel machines, and sets fire to his paintings, revealing shapes or famous people. This is a brief, non-exhaustive overview of his versatile expertise, which you can discover in his universe called ORIGINAL.

...Welcome to his world and let yourself be guided by his alter ego, the Original with suspenders and round glasses...

In Valais, Adélia has been involved in the artistic world for a long time, but it was in St. Gallen that she took her first painting classes and began her photography career. In the 2000s, she settled in Lausanne and then in Trélex. Curious and passionate, she has had a fascination for the Arts since a young age and has been active in the IT field for over 20 years. She works 80% of her time in order to devote more time to her artistic activities (photography, painting, music and dance). Self-taught, she has several strings to her bow; speaks several languages, plays several instruments, masters new technologies and has a natural ease in human relations. Don't hesitate to visit her personal website and leave your impressions!

BERNARD GARO

Bernard Garo was born in 1964. Graduating with honors from the Lausanne School of Art (ECAL) in 1989, he lives and works in his studio in Nyon (CH), located between Lausanne and Geneva. His projects also often take him between Paris, Barcelona, and Berlin. In 1998, the visual artist spent several months in Barcelona, Berlin, and then Paris to confront other cultures and places and enrich himself through artistic encounters. He devotes himself primarily to painting, with commitment and breadth, while simultaneously developing a photographic approach. In 2008, he represented Switzerland at the Brussels Photographic Summer with large-format prints from a series entitled Topography of Passage and Oblivion.

Garo's work celebrates both painting and our earth, incorporating entirely natural materials into his canvases, collected from cliffs and volcanic craters. He thus opens his painting to a multifaceted and contemporary perception that celebrates nature, life, humanity and its vulnerability, as well as technology and science.

SEBASTIEN PRIDMORE

My artistic approach includes an ecological approach that is close to my heart. I use food, spices, and certain edible flowers to create natural paintings.

The themes of my works reflect my interest in old photographs and the 1900s period. I do not seek to create an exact copy of my subject but rather to transcribe the atmosphere of an era or a moment.

PASCAL BETTEX

It was in Basel, where he was born in 1953, that Pascal Bettex was fascinated, at the age of 10, by an exhibition by Jean Tinguely.

Then his grandfather and his father passed on to him their gift of creative ability and so at the age of 16, he made his first

mobile. Passionate about vintage motorcycles, he loves to bring old machines back to life. Since 1999, he has dedicated himself to kinetic art and specializes in the creation of mobile lucubrations, based on an old object that comes back to life in a new form. In addition to his manual dexterity, he is armed with a boundless imagination and his great pleasure is seeing the faces of spectators, young and old, light up when they discover his playful works. Most of his creations are designed at the request of clients: it is therefore a question of directing the creative spirit towards the final destination, for an ideal harmony between the sculpture and its future environment.

ANDREA DORA WOLFSKÄMPF

Andrea Dora Wolfskämpf was born in northern Germany in 1967. Initially passionate about theater, she studied theater science in Vienna, then trained at the Schools of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf and Bremen. Arriving in Switzerland twenty years ago, she exhibited in various galleries in Switzerland. She was quickly asked to create the costumes and sets for Camille Saint-Saëns' "Carnival of the Animals" and Mozart's "Magic Flute" for children at the Yehudi Menhuin Festival in Gstaad. Always with the same creativity and maintaining her love for colors and expressive style, Andrea Dora has found her place in the art world in Switzerland. She has a studio in "Le cour des Miracles" in Montreux. Photo: ©Thierry Porchet

ANGELA MAC FALL

Born in Belfast ..... in the midst of the conflict between Protestants and Catholics, my parents chose to emigrate to Canada in 1977.

I graduated from the University of Ottawa in Fine Arts, after which I set off to explore the world, spending three years in Tokyo where I had the opportunity to exhibit my paintings in some exceptional locations. I arrived in Switzerland in 2001 following an offer for a position as a visual arts teacher, and I began my life in Switzerland. I have a studio in Vevey where I work, and I exhibit my paintings in Switzerland and abroad.

NOEL HEMON

Originally from Le Lude (France), Noël Hémon arrived in Canada in 1996. It was in a fine arts school in Montreal that he deepened his painting and drawing technique. There he studied the great masters and made some reproductions to better understand their techniques. In 2003 he began a series of paintings on Montreal, and more specifically the Mont Royal plateau. The public was immediately enthusiastic and he sold his entire production. In November 2004, he participated in the competition of the city of La Prairie, and won the 1st prize in the semi-professional category, as well as the public prize, all categories combined. In 2007 he settled in Switzerland where he began with a series of studies. He quickly arrived at works that sublimate the changing light of Lake Geneva, the Alps and more broadly the landscapes of Vaud which he will present in 2011 through various exhibitions (Château d'Ouchy, Nestlé and Villa Mégroz Lutry). In 2018, he created private classes and workshops, teaching different techniques such as pastel (oil and dry), sculpture, charcoal, etching, drypoint, stained glass ... To share his passion and know-how, he offers semi-private classes and workshops which already have enthusiastic followers. In 2019 Noël Hémon went to stay in an Aboriginal community in the Australian desert. He continues his theme on human identity and is mainly interested in Aboriginal culture in symbiosis with nature and animals.
